BACKGROUND
Mr. James P. Welsh has an extensive financial and analytical background with over 10 years experience in commercial lending with broad experience in the underwriting and management of highly levered cash flow and asset-based transactions. Mr. Welsh has also been a commercial loan workout officer with a large, global finance company. AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Mr. Welsh possesses skills in
financial analysis, financial forecasting, and industry analysis. Additionally, he has been responsible for
the oversight of the liquidation of numerous businesses both in bankruptcy
and in out-of-court proceedings to assure maximum overall return on
assets. Mr. Welsh has experience with
companies in various industries including manufacturing, retail, oil and gas,
and financial services. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
Immediately prior to joining High Ridge Partners, Mr. Welsh was a Vice President of Underwriting in the Lender Finance division of Wells Fargo Foothill. While at Wells Fargo Foothill, Mr. Welsh also managed a portfolio of asset-based loans aggregating over $400 million in commitments. Portfolio management included analysis of collateral performance to identify negative or positive trends, financial performance to monitor covenant compliance and each customer’s budget to actual performance, and the analysis of operating cash flows evaluated within the context of each customer’s business model. Portfolio management also included the negotiation and documentation of numerous loan modifications resulting in greater loan outstandings and earnings. Customers included distressed debt buyers; asset based lenders and factors, and diversified financial services businesses. Prior to joining Wells Fargo Foothill, Mr. Welsh held various positions in underwriting, portfolio management and workout at ORIX Leveraged Finance and GE Capital Commercial Finance. Mr. Welsh’s workout experience included numerous liquidations performed under Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors, Bankruptcies, and out-of-court secured party sales. As the primary workout officer for these liquidations, Mr. Welsh was responsible for the management and direction of various service providers including: Bankruptcy Attorneys, Turnaround Consultants, Auctioneers, Collection Agencies, and Forensic Auditors.
