NANCY A. ROSS, CPA, CIRA

BACKROUND

Nancy A. Ross has served a wide variety of businesses with leadership and advice in restructuring, finance, accounting, auditing and operations. She is an experienced turnaround consultant and crisis manager. In addition, Ms. Ross has provided forensic accounting and investigative services and has testified as an expert in such matters.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE

Ms. Ross possesses the strong negotiating and persuasive skills needed to bring success to a business restructuring or turnaround. She has demonstrated her ability to work as a team with legal counsel, corporate ownership and management, and other parties in interest to create business solutions. She uses her tenacity and financial and analytic talents to identify and implement cash flow improvement, critical cost and expense savings, financing alternatives and other strategies for business improvement and turnaround. Ms. Ross often acts as a fiduciary for creditors in Assignments for the Benefit of Creditor and in Chapter 11 Plans. Her experience also encompasses forensic investigations and related expert testimony, acquisition due diligence, pre bankruptcy planning, out of court compositions and business valuations.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining High Ridge Partners, Ms. Ross was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Mother’s Stores, Inc., a national specialty retailer with over 200 stores. In that capacity, she was key in the company’s bankruptcy reorganization. Prior to Mother’s Stores, Ms. Ross provided financial advisory services in restructuring and insolvency at Ernst & Young and then at Coopers & Lybrand. She received her public accounting/auditing experience at Arthur Young & Company

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS

Ms. Ross received her Bachelor of Science in Commerce, with a concentration in Accounting, from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor. In 1992, Ms. Ross was awarded the Zolfo Cooper Award (Gold Medal) for the highest score on the CIRA examination.

Ms. Ross is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, the Turnaround Management Association and the Illinois CPA Society. She served on the boards of directors for both the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors.
